about José Ramón Lozano
Ceuta, 1983
José Ramón Lozano (Ceuta, 1983) has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Granada. Since the beginning of his career as an artist he has been awarded prizes such as the XXV Certamen de Arte Joven ciudad de Ceuta, and has had the opportunity to exhibit both individually and collectively in cities such as Madrid, Aveiro (Portugal) and Gold Coast (Australia), among others.
Lozano's creations form part of the collections of institutions such as the Museum of Ceuta and the Caja Rural Foundation of Granada, as well as private collections in various countries around the world, including Spain, Australia, Italy, Denmark, France, Morocco and Portugal.
The gaze is one of the central elements of José Ramón's work, expressive and moving, it hovers over us like a mirror showing that most passionate and emotional side. Wide brushstrokes and vibrant colours characterise the works of José Ramón Lozano, composing the faces from an impressionism that brings freshness and contemporaneity to his figures.
