Gerardo Aparicio
Madrid, 1943
Gerardo Aparicio (Madrid, 1943) is a Spanish painter and printmaker trained at the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid. From the outset, he showed a stronger interest in drawing and printmaking techniques than in traditional painting, developing a body of work focused on graphic art and engraving that reflects an experimental sensibility and a critical view of image and visual culture. Deeply influenced by Asian culture, Aparicio has created a visual universe where collage, etching, and hand‑colored prints coexist with symbolic and compositional references of his own.
Throughout his career, he has exhibited in solo and group shows at museums and art venues in Madrid, Cuenca, and New York, participating in exhibitions and fairs that display his work both nationally and internationally.
His work stands as an important voice in contemporary Spanish printmaking, exploring the relationship between technique, memory, and visual thought.
