Marcel Villier
Barcelona, 1948
Marcel Villier (Barcelona, 1948) is a self‑taught Spanish artist whose work spans over five decades of creative exploration. After early work in jewelry, photography, and design, Villier settled in Menorca in 1972, a place that has deeply influenced his art and where he has lived and worked ever since.
His multidisciplinary practice includes drawing, painting, watercolor, printmaking, lithography, and sculpture, often inspired by the light, landscapes, and atmosphere of the island. Villier’s work ranges from figurative subjects to freer interpretations of his surroundings, all marked by a poetic and sensitive vision.
Throughout his career he has exhibited in Barcelona, Menorca, Nice, Germany, and the United State.
Villier’s art offers an intimate and reflective perspective on landscape and life, transforming everyday motifs into visual poetry and establishing him as a unique voice connected to the Mediterranean cultural landscape.
