Art show "The oblique glance"
The oblique glance
From 9 21 2022 to 11 12 2022
To look, to see, to observe, to glance, to gaze, to contemplate, to stalk, to examine, to pry, to think, to ponder....... It is innate in man to look at his surroundings and the things around him. We all know what the verb to look is and how important it is, to look is much more than to see, it is to dwell on a person or a thing, it is to relate events, it is to enjoy something or to fall in love.... is the most used and valued sense of man. There are many ways of looking at a painting, we can look at the period in which it was made, the style, the events, the subject matter, the attitude, the landscape, the light, the colours, the gesture, the rhythm, the strokes, etc..... In this exhibition we ask you not only to look at the works directly from the front, but also to look at them from the corner of your eye, from the side, or indirectly, even with a squinting gaze. José Saramago said "...the oblique gaze is that which is crossed by error, doubt and suspicion...it is that which questions what is being looked at or that which makes us think of the possibility of another response to what is established, to think that there are no definitive truths".
