about Carmen Baena
Granada, 1967
Born in Granada, she currently lives in Murcia where she has developed most of her career. She currently has an extensive exhibition career in national and international spaces both individually and collectively.
She develops her artistic work through marble sculpture, embroidery on paper and canvas, and photographic experimentation. In all the techniques she uses, a reflexive search for the habitability of the body, time and space is a determining factor. Spiritual and sensory landscapes take on an important relevance and transport the viewer to an intimate, poetic and enigmatic space. The nature that has surrounded him since his childhood in Granada inspires all his work with the same syncretism that attracted his sensitivity since those early years.
His work is present in public and private collections, in the Autonomous Community of Murcia and Valencia, City Councils and Museums such as the Postal Museum of Madrid, as well as in various European cities.
