about Fernando Palacios
Valladolid, 1976
The painter Fernando Palacios is graduated in Conservation and Restoration at the Escuela Superior de BB.CC. de Valladolid. Informalism is the basis of his artistic roots, giving matter and gesture a leading role in his production. A unique gesturality marked by the contrast between rapid and improvised gouaches and material reliefs. With his painting he manages to evoke a depth reminiscent of romantic vision, focusing on the origin of the essential connection between the individual and his environment through meteorological phenomena.
He has held individual and collective exhibitions at national and international level, and among the numerous mentions he has received are the "New Values" Prize in the IV José David Redondo Painting Biennial, the 1st Prize in the IV Caneja Painting Competition and the Army Prize, large format in its XLVI Edition, and the XIX ACOR Painting Competition of Castilla y León.
