Juan Escudero has devoted himself to the practice of engraving since 2017. To draw, Juan Escudero makes it a condition to leave all the marks made visible and not make any correction. He applies a system which a first line prefigures the subsequent line and if an irregularity occurs, it is transmitted on the next line.
His works are based on a process similar to that which occurs in nature, which is why his drawings tend to connect with familiar patterns and shapes such as surfaces, fabrics, fluid orography or waves. According to the artist, it is similar to the automatic drawings that we make unconsciously when talking on the phone. A drawing like a musical improvisation, an automatic writing, a clear transit through the present without correcting anything. The basic idea for drawing is not to represent something but to activate a process. Juan Escudero has participated in numerous group exhibitions and national art fairs.
