Madrid, 1957
Spanish artist and architect whose early career as a distinguished architect profoundly influenced his artistic language. He holds a Master's degree from the School of Architecture of Madrid and a PhD in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid. Founder of the artistic groups Tres en Realidad (1998) and El Emperador Desnudo (2010), Oyonarte has also devoted years to researching the nature of artistic experience and aesthetics.
His painting is characterised by a dynamic dialogue between abstraction and figuration. Through rich textures, layered compositions and expressive gestures, his works explore memory, perception and human experience, creating poetic and contemplative visual spaces.
His work is included in numerous public and private collections internationally, including the Museum of Contemporary Art Siglo XXI in Madrid, the Banque Nationale Collection in Paris, the North Carolina University Art Collection, the Casoria Contemporary Art Museum in Naples and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Florianópolis, Brazil.
