about Marta Aguirre
Tudela, 1983
Marta Aguirre (Tudela, 1983) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice focuses primarily on painting and contemporary printmaking. Her work is defined by an ongoing exploration of color, materiality, and pictorial language, creating visual universes where figuration dissolves into compositions rich in chromatic intensity and gestural expression.
Trained at the School of Arts and Crafts in Zaragoza and holding a Fine Arts degree from the Alonso Cano Faculty in Granada, Marta Aguirre furthered her studies at the University of Salamanca with a Séneca scholarship and pursued doctoral studies at the University of Granada. In 2015, she completed a Master’s in Printmaking at the CIEC Foundation (Betanzos, A Coruña) and established her studio in Granada, where she develops her work in painting and printmaking. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, art fairs, and has also worked in design and illustration.
Her work engages in a dialogue between stain, line, and color, exploring a subjective form of figuration that moves beyond representation toward more evocative and sensory dimensions.
