Andy Sotiriou (London, 1960) develops a photographic practice defined by formal precision and an analytical gaze rooted in his background in Physics. His work focuses on the exploration of the contemporary landscape, both urban and natural, through refined, minimal compositions in which light, scale, and the isolation of elements construct a sense of stillness and estrangement.
Positioned between documentary and conceptual approaches, Sotiriou reduces each scene to its essential components, creating images of strong atmospheric presence that invite sustained contemplation. His series, often structured around variations of a single motif (architecture, snow, water), reflect on perception, the passage of time, and the human imprint on the environment.
