Teresa Carneiro

about Teresa Carneiro
Oporto, 1977
Graduated in Industrial Design from the University of Lusiada in Porto, Teresa Carneiro developed from an early age a deep sensitivity for painting and drawing.
Her artwork revolves around the human figure, particularly the feminine, which she approaches from an intimate, emotional, and clearly figurative perspective. Her pieces reveal influences of figurative pop and a remarkable command of color, form, and composition. Often working in large format, Teresa explores layers, transparencies, and subtle plays of light that give her figures a theatrical and intimate presence. Her practice brings together a variety of manual techniques and supports, the result of ongoing research into materials and processes.
She has presented her artwork in galleries and art fairs in Portugal and Spain, in both group and solo exhibitions, and her pieces are part of several private collections.
