about Paco Lagares
Madrid, 1948
Paco Lagares (Madrid, 1948) is a Spanish artist with a distinguished career whose work spans painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, and graphic art, blending technical mastery with contemporary exploration. His plastic work is noted for its fine draftsmanship, carefully composed pieces, and a visual language rich in symbolism and poetic expression.
Since the 1970s, he has exhibited extensively in solo and group shows in Spain and abroad, maintaining a dynamic presence in the art world for over five decades. He has also developed significant work in the performing arts, including scenography, set and lighting design, and visual direction, linking his plastic creation with theatrical narrative.
Lagares is a Professor of Drawing at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Granada and a Full Academic Member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Granada. His works are held in major public and private collections.
