Juan Lara Hierro is a Teacher in Primary Education specialized in Plastic Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid. The artist, self-taught, collaborated in 1993 as a printmaker and engraver in the Rafael R. de Rivera Engraving Workshop, later founding his own Engraving workshop, Alburquerque 5. His work ranges from engraving and painting to illustration and graphic design, but it is in the world of graphic art where he has worked and developed his artistic work most intensely.

Juan Lara collaborates as an illustrator and graphic designer in editorials, incorporating the use of new technologies in his work, investigating the possibilities that digital printing offers to his creative work.
