Marc Jesús Vives

about Marc Jesús Vives
Ibiza, 1966
Marc Jesús Vives (Ibiza, 1966) is a Spanish painter and sculptor based in Menorca, where he has lived and worked since 1984. Trained from a young age under the guidance of his father, painter Ramón Jesús, he developed a luminous, Mediterranean artistic style that reflects light, color, and the rhythms of everyday life. His work is characterized by a vibrant palette and a visual sensitivity that aims to convey joy, serenity, and aesthetic pleasure. Among his most recognizable motifs are the so‑called “blue women”, female figures that serve as metaphors for calmness, sensuality, and vitality.
In more recent series, Vives also explores a freer, more geometric approach, fragmenting forms and giving color even greater prominence. His paintings offer viewers a pause from the pace of modern life, suggesting an open window to sun, enjoyment, and the “pleasure of living.”
He has exhibited in Spain and at international art fairs, and his work is part of both public and private collections.
