Rafael Amorós

about Rafael Amorós
Valencia, 1964
A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Valencia, Amorós began his artistic career through painting, drawing, and printmaking. Over time, he found in sculpture his most personal and definitive means of expression. In 1987, he lived and worked in the studio of the painter Antoni Miró, for whom he produced several print editions. In 1995, part of his graphic work became part of the collection of the National Library of Spain in Madrid. Today, Amorós continues to develop his sculptural practice, which he describes as “the text I would like to write, the music I would like to compose, and the dance I would like to dance.” Through his sculptures, he seeks to reflect his own nature in his artistic production, achieving simplicity, balance, and elegance. His artwork has evolved steadily, revealing a restless spirit open to new discoveries. Since 1983, his art has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions in various cities around the world.
