Andrés Rábago García (Madrid, 1947), known as El Roto, is one of Spain’s most prominent satirical cartoonists and graphic humorists. A self-taught artist, he began publishing cartoons in 1968 in magazines such as Hermano Lobo, La Codorniz, and Triunfo, and has collaborated with media outlets including El País, El Jueves, and Diario 16.
His work combines social critique, Dadaist vision, and expressionist graphic style, drawing inspiration from Goya and George Grosz. In recent years, he has focused on his painterly work, exploring the spiritual and aspects that transcend the conventional perception of reality. He has also worked as a screenwriter, set designer, and comic artist, building a broad and versatile creative career.
