Madrid, 1966
Mariana Laín (Madrid, 1966) is a Spanish artist working in painting, illustration, and printmaking. She graduated in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid (1990), originally intending to pursue design until discovering her passion for painting. Since then, she has built a strong career with numerous solo and group exhibitions, and has participated in art fairs such as ARCO and Estampa, as well as shows in cities including New York, Bologna, Tokyo, and Stockholm.
Her work spans painting, illustration, and printmaking, with a visual language that blends figurative sensitivity, color, and personal narratives. She has also collaborated on editorial, advertising, and film projects, expanding her presence across contemporary art contexts. In addition to her artistic practice, Laín actively engages in cultural projects and artistic collectives, combining her creative work with art promotion and community initiatives.
